Distillery of Modern Art (DoMA) is proud to announce that its Nouveau Gin received three honors at the 2026 New Orleans Spirits Competition: a Gold Medal, Best in Category for Classic Gin and Best Label. Together, the awards recognize both the quality of the spirit and the artistry of its presentation, two elements at the heart of DoMA’s brand.
Crafted from a 100% French wheat base and bottled at 92 proof (46% ABV), Nouveau Gin offers a bold interpretation of a classic spirit. Coriander, juniper, orris root and angelica root lead the aroma, followed by layers of lemon and orange peel, cassia cinnamon, Szechuan peppercorn and subtle chamomile. The result is a vibrant, full-flavored gin with remarkable depth and a distinctive style.
“Receiving this recognition in New Orleans, a city with a rich and influential cocktail culture, is truly meaningful,” said DoMA founder Seth Watson. “Nouveau Gin represents everything we want Distillery of Modern Art to be: thoughtfully made, creatively expressed and designed to bring people together.”
The Best Label award celebrates Nouveau Gin’s distinctive packaging, which reflects DoMA’s belief that what surrounds the spirit should be as thoughtfully considered as what goes inside the bottle. Like every spirit in the DoMA portfolio, Nouveau Gin features original artwork visible through the bottle, transforming the package into a canvas and reinforcing the distillery’s signature intersection of craft and creativity. The three awards further establish Nouveau Gin as a standout American gin and affirm DoMA’s larger commitment to the “Art of the Spirit.”
