Three Albums, One Afternoon

Join us on Sunday, November 22, at 3 PM for a joint album release celebration featuring trumpeter Yuichi Arai, bassist Alex Blumenthaler, and guitarist Michael Bacarella.

Under the banner “Three Albums, One Afternoon,” these musicians come together to celebrate Arai’s Songs from Distant Shores, Blumenthaler’s Three Standards, and Bacarella’s A Time for Duo. Settle into DoMA’s art-filled surroundings for an afternoon of live music, creative connection, and fresh discoveries.

A composer and trumpeter originally from Osaka, Arai brings a storyteller’s imagination to his music, with his latest album exploring distant places and memories. Blumenthaler puts the upright bass in the spotlight, pairing a foundation in straight-ahead jazz with an expressive melodic voice. Bacarella, an Atlanta-based guitarist and educator with a master’s degree in jazz guitar from USC, brings performance experience spanning the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Joined by drummer Ben Jamin Johnson and vocalist Aliyah Rene, they invite you to celebrate three personal musical journeys and the spark that comes from sharing a stage.

Your ticket include a craft cocktail or a non-alcoholic beverage and a snack.
