DoMA’s Guest Bartender Series
As we approach three years behind the bar, we’re excited to officially announce a DoMA Guest Bartender Series that kicks off with a James Beard Award semifinalist!
Managing Partner at VanTrece Hospitality Group, Kursten Berry is well known throughout Atlanta and beyond for her creative and innovative approach to mixology. She was named by the Atlanta Journal and Constitution as one of the “4 Bartenders to Know” in 2024 and is the only Atlantan to be recognized by James Beard this year in the category of Outstanding Professional in Cocktail Service. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to work with Kursten to craft the following cocktails which will be served at DoMA starting this weekend!
Halle Berry or Hallelujah
Built with DoMA Rye, strawberry distillate, blueberries, lemon juice, and szechuan peppercorn syrup, the Halle Berry or Hallelujah sips with a fresh tartness and clean finish. This cocktail is a special experience for Kursten, who is allergic to strawberries. But by distilling the strawberry, we’re able to create a subtly sweet spirit that is high proof and has no allergens.
Good Vibrations
Built with DoMA Amaro Peach, DoMA Bourbon, tepache, lime, herbal tea, orgeat, and eucalyptus bitters, Good Vibrations is a tiki-style cocktail that is ready for Spring even if Atlanta hasn’t fully committed. We make our own tepache and orgeat, making this drink ⅓ DoMA spirit ingredients, ⅓ DoMA bar creations, and ⅓ outside ingredients. It’s such a blast making new drinks with friends using so many liquids that are manufactured in house!
Meet Kursten and Support Giving Kitchen
Both Halle Berry or Hallelujah and Good Vibrations will be served behind the bar for at least the remainder of March. During this time, $1 per Kursten created cocktail sold will be donated to Giving Kitchen, the nonprofit recipient of her choice. Giving Kitchen is an Atlanta-based nonprofit that provides emergency assistance to food service workers through financial support and a network of community assistance.
Kursten will be serving drinks at DoMA and talking about her creative process on Friday, March 14 from 6-8 PM. We look forward to seeing you then!
