Halloween is one of the best holidays for creative, over-the-top cocktails. From chic spider web martinis to fake-blood-infused tonics, you can break out the dry ice, red food coloring, and chocolate candy flavors to Frankenstein together a mix, and bring your own bubbling brew to life. Here are a few costume party favorites, to get your creative juices flowing:
The Grave Digger Cocktail
In a 12-16 oz tumbler or high ball glass, combine 1 oz Distillery of Modern Art Whiskey, 2 oz of hard cider. Fill the glass with crushed ice. Fill with ginger ale.
Beetlejuice Cocktail
Fill a double old-fashioned glass with ice. Then add the 1 oz Distillery of Modern Art Vodka, ½ oz melon liqueur, ½ oz raspberry liqueur, ½ oz blue curaçao, and 2 oz sweet & sour. Pour 1½ oz cranberry juice on top of the drink.
Ghoulish Gin-ger Ale
In a rocks glass with ice, combine 2 oz Distillery of Modern Art Gin, 4 oz ginger ale and 2-3 dashes cranberry bitters. Gently pour 1 oz grenadine around the inside edges of the glass and garnish with scary accessories.
Black Cat
Add 2 oz Distillery of Modern Art vodka, 1 oz cherry brandy, 2 oz cola and 2 oz cranberry juice to a Highball glass with ice, stir gently, and serve.
Apple Butter Old Fashioned
Rim your glass with coarse sugar. In a cocktail shaker, combine the 1/4 cup apple cider, juice from a fresh lemon, a dash of orange bitters, 1 tablespoon apple butter and 2 ounces Distillery of Modern Art whiskey. Shake to combine, then strain into your prepared glass filled with ice. Top with ginger beer. Garnish with cinnamon stick and apple.
