You’d be hard pressed to find a city with as many new hot spots as Atlanta. It seems like every few months, another – restaurant, brewery, bar – hits the market somewhere around the metro area. For us distillers, though, the necessity to age our alcohol makes the process of coming to market a little slower.
Our goal at The Distillery of Modern Art is to artfully infuse well-crafted small batch spirits with the simplicity and originality of contemporary art while serving as a partner to our neighbors in the Atlanta metro area. As we enter into one of the city’s fastest-growing neighborhoods, Chamblee, our hope is to become an important part of the community.
It’s part of why we’re so excited about our new space. We’re converting a 15,000-square-foot office and warehouse into a production area for the craft distillery, a retail and exhibition space with a tasting room and bar, and a space for private events. It’s our hope that the distillery experience — combining art and spirits — will set the tone for innovation around the Chamblee community.
As an evolving and fast-growing city, we’re excited to bring a new experience to Chamblee. And as Atlanta has emerged in recent years as a craft food and beverage town, it’s base of micro-breweries and distilleries, along with successful farm-to-table restaurants, has re-oriented the city to the rest of the country as a food and beverage destination. Needless to say, we’re excited to play our part.
